The Regional Meeting of World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) was held in online format, attended by the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Khanishvili.
The Deputy Head of the National Food Agency and the OIE Delegate, Dr. Vasili Basiladze, presented to the participants information on the Project aimed at strengthening the capacity of veterinary services and veterinary technical institutions in Georgia, undertaken with the financial and technical support of Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the United States of America and World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE). The Project envisions improvement of the veterinary system in the region in accordance with OIE Pathway and Guidelines. The enhancement of the legislative base is planned with the participation of the OIE expert specifically invited for this very purpose.
The Head of National Food Agency, Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili, has emphasized the importance of active cooperation with international partners as well as their support, in terms of both technical assistance and sharing experience.
