About NFA
National Food Agency is the Legal Entity under the Public Law of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia that is established on the basis of Georgian Law on Food Safety and Quality. The Agency has been transformed into legal entity under the public law since 3 January of 2011.

Anti-Anthrax mandatory vaccination in BolnisiAn anthrax case was detected in Bolnisi Municipality village of Tandzia, three people were infected. An infected animal was slaughtered by a citizen without veterinary surveillance bypassing the slaughterhouse. Part of the meat was distributed among relatives and part was probably sold. Above mentioned case is being researched by specialists.

The National Food Agency destroyed diseased potatoes ,, Synchytrium endobioticum”NFA destroyed 25t. of potatoes imported from Turkey, which was diseased by the especially dangerous quarantine pest "Synchytrium endobioticum".
