Meeting with beekeepers was held in Kutaisi about the Animal Identification-Registration and Traceability System

Representatives of the National Food Agency and FAO Georgia met with the members of the F. Benton Beekeeping Association.

The parties discussed the importance of NAITS, the practical use of the electronic system and its benefits, including the prospect of exporting queen bees. The beekeepers were also introduced to the modern European technologies of management of bee breeding farms and the measures to be taken.

The members of the F. Benton Association discussed mutual cooperation between apiaries and joint future plans.

From 2023, beekeeping farmers already can register at NAITS. 

NAITS is implemented by the National Food Agency with the technical support of FAO and the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
