Georgian Sheep Exported to Israel with the Help of NFA
Georgian sheep export market is expanding. For the first time in Georgian reality, 2200 sheep is being exported to Israel. NFA held negotiations with the Israel since February of current year. '
Fall Webworm
The Fall Webworm is a dangerous pest subject to be quarantined, which damages up to 300 sorts of plants. National Food Agency is implementing annual chemical treatments against the above mentioned. The Fall webworm is widely spread in Western Georgia – Samegrelo, Imereti, Guria and Adjara Regions. The treatment is executed using “Tifa” and “Scout” spraying vehicle aggregates. '
Italian Locust
The Italian Locust is a dangerous pest to be quarantined. It is widely spread in eastern Georgia. National Food Agency is implementing annual chemical treatments against the pest. '
Inspecting of Food Producing Establishments
National Food Agency (NFA) is executing the state control since February 8, 2011. State control of all types of food/feed producing Establishments went into force on January 3rd 2011 according to Georgian law “On Food Safety and Quality”
State control of ventures means the monitoring of whole chain of food production, inspecting sanitary-hygiene norms and organoleptic checks of ready products.

On June 25, 2010, the Prime Minister of Georgia had appointed the new head of NFA Mr. David Koberidze.

Charity Event
On 16th of October 2010, NFA celebrated the World Food Day. The NFA initiated to grant food produced by local companies to orphan houses under the slogan “Healthy Food for Children”. '
