A large quantity of outdated eggs have been withdrawn by NFA representatives from Chichinadze St market. 900 eggs had a producing date of 11.03.2013, accordingly the date has expired on 11.04.2013.     

Russian market for Georgian agricultural products is open. The agreement was made by Russian and Georgian side during the meeting at the Ministry of agriculture of Russian Federation, FEDERAL SERVICE FOR VETERINARY AND PHYTOSANUITARY SURVEILLENCE - "Roselkhozandzor".     

According to information provided by Russian Sanitary Surveillance Service "Rospotrebnadzor" During their third visit in May, 2013, Russian specialists will inspect water and beer companies listed below: LLC "Chargali Springs" address: Dusheti Region, village Chargali   LLC "Georgian Water Company" address: Adigeni Region, village Mlashe LLC "Koka-Tauri" address: Keda Region, village Kokotauri LLC "Exotic" address: Tsageri Region, village Kulbaki LLC "Progress 2000" address: Ambrolauri Region, village Khotevi LLC "Lomisi" (Beer) address: Mtskheta Region, village Natakhtari    

The agency has completed working on the draft of the "Food/feed Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection" Code.

A large quantity of outdated eggs have been withdrawn by NFA representatives from "Nugeshi" shop network. About 200.000 pieces (553 boxes) of eggs produced in Moldavia were sealed in LTD Nugeshi storehouse.

A meeting has been held with Estonian delegation in the frames of Georgian-Estonian Partnership Program. The meeting was opened by Ambassador of Estonia Mr. Priit Turk and Head of Agency Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili . Working specifics and structure of Estonian Veterinary and Food Board were presented to Georgian colleagues at the meeting.

National Food Agency has received operative information from Kaspi regional division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding detection of big amount of horse meat. Probably horses were stolen. Investigation on detection of horse origin is in progress.    

The Head of NFA Zurab Chekurashvili met the representatives of slaughter- houses, and informed them about the situation on the meat market. Business operators were informed about the existed legislations, as well 

Presentation of Institutional Capacity Building Program (CIB) has been held at National Food Agency. The first meeting of Steering Committee of the Program has been opened by Zurab Chekurashvili.
